One year...

Happy Birthday to my blog!! Exactly one year ago on my 13th birthday I started this blog. And I am very glad that I did! Even though I haven't been posting lately, but as we come up to the Holidays I am hoping to do Blogiday again, though it might not be everyday, but I am thinking about doing it three or four  times a week and having a hair day (hair masks, hairstyles, hair treatments etc) a face/body day (face and body scrubs, masks, cleansers etc)  a deco/craft say (holiday decorating inspiration, holiday crafts, baking, recipes etc) and of course nails. Or maybe once a week alternating these days. I am starting to brainstorm ideas for posts so we will see how many I can come up with and go from there. If you guys have any ideas leave them below!! I am really getting excited for all the holidays!! And the break from school, even though I enjoy school, it'll be nice to have a break from everything. On a side note, I am 14 today!:) Which is sort of scary now that it is starting to sink in......:) Anyway I will talk to you guys soon! (hopefully)

Monday Manicures

Hey guys!!:)
So how is everyone? I'm good but as usual super busy, which is good but at the same time annoying since I don't have time to blog. Anyway I did some Halloween nails since Halloween is already this Thursday. I am watching the World Series so they are not as good as normal or as I would like them to be, but at least I got them painted. I did jack-o-lanterns since I don't really want to go around with gory nails. And I didn't have enough time to do anything more detailed. Hopefully I'll have time soon.

I know I keep saying that ill try to post, and it never happens, but I will keep trying my hardest!!:)

Monday Manicures

Hey guys!!!!
I am so sorry I have not posted in over a month!!!! School started and all of our other activities so I've been crazy busy, plus I can't paint my nails for Monday Manicures. But this week is fall break!!!!:) so I finally got to paint my nails again, I wanted to do fall nails since I won't be painting my nails anytime soon (sadly).
On my thumb I painted a tree with all of the the leaves falling down, then on the next finger I painted bigger leaves, then smaller leaves, then bigger ones again, and finally I painted a sort of gradient with all of the colors I used. I really loved the colors I used and just wanted to do leaves since I will paint Halloween nails later in October. Again I am so sorry that I haven't been posting and I promise to try my best to post more often.

Back to School Series: Hair tutorial: Snake braid

This is a really cool hairstyle to do when you want your hair down but still want something cuter then just down. Or when you want your hair out of your face. It is also super fast for those morning when your rushing to get out of the house. And all it takes is a couple of bobby pins!

Step 1. Take a section of hair from your forehead. It should be thick enough to make a nice sized braid.

Step 2. Braid this section of hair until you only have a couple of inches left of hair.

Step 3. Now here is the magic;) your going to take the two side sections of your braid and holding the middle strand, run the side pieces up the middle piece. In this picture you can see how I started to push the side pieces up the middle. I obviously couldn't take the picture and hold the middle strand at the same time, but try and imagine the hand I am taking the picture with is holding the middle strand while I push the side strands up it.

Step 4. This is how it should look like once you have pushed it up. I recommend not doing this to often since the pushing up part is going up against the hair stand and if you do it to often it can cause breakage to your hair.

Step 5. Gently spread your "snake" out so you can see the squiggly design in it. (sorry about the lighting in this picture, I don't know what happened)

Step 6. To finish it lift a section of hair up from farther back on the head and pin the end of the braid under the hair you lifted up. I recommend crossing the bobby pins like an X as this holds it the best.
Step 7. Let the hair that you lifted up fall over the end of your braid hiding the bobby pins. it might take a little arranging to hide the bobby pins, just play around with it until your satisfied.

The Finished Hairstyle!
As always you can add a little hairspray to help hold it throughout the whole day.

Again thanks to Louisa for modeling for me!
Hope you all enjoyed, and good luck!

Back to School Series: Hair Tutorial: Dutch Braid into Ponytail.

So today I am doing my first hair tutorial, I know I have promised to do a hair tutorial for a while but I am really bad explaining in words how to do hair... Anyway I decided to go ahead and give it a try! I will try to explain as clearly as possible, but please forgive me if I don't do a very good job. This is the first post in my back to school series.

This hairstyle is one that once you have mastered it you will be able to do it will be really fast and perfect for those days when you are in a hurry in the morning but you want your hair up all day but still want it to be cute. It is also really cute if you do some sort of sport. Gymnastics, dance, soccer, softball, etc. Because you can do this and then put the ponytail into a bun and jazz up your otherwise simple bun/ponytail.

Step 1.  On the top of your head take a rectangle section of hair and you are going to Dutch braid it only picking hair up from this section. A Dutch braid is essentially a French braid except you are doing it inside out. So in a French and normal braid you have three sections and alternate left over middle, and then right over middle, with the side pieces becoming the middle piece. Well in a dutch braid it is the middle over the side pieces. So middle over left (with the left becoming the middle) and then middle over right. But other then that it is the same as a French braid with you adding pieces to the side pieces. The only difference is they go under the middle piece.
The difference between the French braid and the Dutch braid is that while the French braid lies flat on the head, the Dutch braid pops up and you can see it a little better.

After you finish adding all the hair in that section, continue with a regular braid. and then use an elastic at the end. This will come out in the end its just to hold the braid for now so it doesn't matter if its a big elastic.

Step 2. Next, gather all of the remaining hair into a a ponytail. If you are doing this on someone else you can have them hold the braid out of the way for you, and if you are doing this on yourself you can use a clip of just hold it in your teeth while you gather all the remaining hair into a ponytail.

Step 3. Add the braid into the ponytail and secure with an elastic. Once you have it secured you can remove the elastic from the bottom of the braid and undo the part of the braid that is in the ponytail.

                                                                 The finished hairstyle!

There are so many ways to jazz it up even more, on her we put a colorful scrunchie. Of course you can always add a little hairspray to help with the flyaways and help hold it in place for the day.

Don't get discouraged if you don't get it perfect the first time, it takes a little bit of practice especially if you are doing it on yourself, but once you've mastered it you will be able to do it in no time!:)

Thank you to my beautiful friend Louisa for modeling for me! Thanks to her I got to do a couple of posts that I will post soon.

I really hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial! And I will talk to you all soon!
Good luck!

Monday Manicures

Surprise!:) I did Monday Manicures on my friend Louisa, so here is what I did! I apologize that it's not as good as usual. I don't normally do designs on other people where the design is the whole nail. I'm used to doing it on my own nails, so sorry that it's not as good as usual.

We went ahead and did back to school nails. I've been putting off doing back to school nails because I really wish it was summer..... But my summer officially ended last week so I had to face back to school nails;) so I did rulers and apples.
When do you guys start school?

Talk to you soon!:)

One of my Random Musings......

Hello everyone!
Long time no chat! I really miss posting! But I am really busy now that school has started, and then ballet starts next week. Anyway I just wanted to go ahead and just say hello. School has been going well and I am excited for ballet to start up again. Even though I am enjoying our new school and I am excited for ballet I still do miss summer vacation;( Ah well, there's next summer to look forward to! So how have you guys been? What have you been up to? I will hopefully post in the near future some hairstyles, I was going to post a lot this summer but then it just got to busy with preparing for our new school etc. But I have been working on some simple, fast, cute, back to school hairstyles. So hopefully those will go up in the near future. No promises though. I also have been coming up with ideas for back to school posts, so hopefully you'll see some of those too.
I will hopefully talk to you guys soon!
